Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper Patriotic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have revealed plans to combine their vote bases and approach 2027 General Election with a head start of 12 million votes.
Mr Gachagua said that if Mt Kenya allows him to lead it for the 2027 duel, he will ensure that they are united to a man and combine efforts with the Akamba community to form the next government.
"The Akamba are part of Mt Kenya communities and in that unity, we will venture out to seek more partnership with other communities and their leaders for an emphatic win," Gachagua said.
The leaders have come together to expand the Mt Kenya voting bloc to encompass the Akamba community, now identified as Mt Kenya South.
"Mr Gachagua and his team can mobilise about 8 million votes. I and my team can mobilise 4 million votes. That means the new look Mt Kenya will take to the negotiation table about 12 million votes," said Mr Musyoka.
The two spoke in Murang'a County where they attended an overnight musical extravaganza at Thika Greens hotel organized by lawyers.
Mr Gachagua had earlier in the day pleaded with Mt Kenya voters to adopt him as area kingpin saying he is ready to unite them with the Akamba community to deliver the presidency in 2027.
"Allow me to plan our 2027 contest. Let me coordinate the drive to get loyal leaders who cannot betrayal our interests…I beg you to uplift me as your leader. I have placed my position, life and wealth in danger for the sake of this community," he said.
"Our secret weapon is Gema plus Akamba. Be wary of divisive political parties. If we stick to that script of unity with Akamba, we shall prevail," he added.

The DCP leader was speaking in Gatanga constituency during the burial ceremony of five family members who died in a road accident on October 25, 2025.
They were among the 17 passengers who were from a dowry negotiation ceremony from Kiambu County when their vehicle plunged into river Kiama in Murang'a County.
Mr Gachagua was making the first public appearance since opposition politics legend Raila Odinga died on October 15, 2025 where he (Gachagua) boycotted body viewing and burial functions.
"I have in my politics so far been an ardent supporter of inclusivity...in my politics I detest isolation of any voting bloc from proximity of power, reason why I have thrown my lot with Mt Kenya since President William Ruto has been plotting for its isolation," Mr Musyoka said.
"The same politics were being played in 2007 where some elements in our politics wanted to isolate Mt Kenya but I stepped out to stem that wicked scheme and volunteered to be Mwai Kibaki's vice president," he said.
Joining Ruto's government
Mr Gachagua, who has since formed the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) as Mt Kenya's special purpose vehicle, said he is begging for a clean sweep in all Mt Kenya electoral positions come 2027.
He is facing Mt Kenya control opposition from President Ruto loyalists and the Jubilee Party led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Jubilee Party which has its bedrock support in Mt Kenya region has since endorsed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i as its deputy leader and 2027 presidential candidate.
Mr Gachagua who was impeached in October last year after serving as President Ruto's deputy for two years also dismissed rumours that he is holding reunion negotiations with his former boss.
Rumours had intensified online indicating that Mr Gachagua might have held talks with President Ruto on the night of October 27, 2025.

"It is not in my weirdest dreams to seek a reunion with President Ruto and his allies and they remain my top priority to work towards their defeat in 2027," he said.
Mr Musyoka also dismissed rumours that he is on his way to joining President Ruto's government saying "I can forgive and unite with all but not with those abducting and murdering our children".
Mr Gachagua said he had opted to remain silent during Mr Odinga's mourning and burial period not for anything sinister but pursuant for peace.
"I have been silent for the two weeks. I have been watching others dance. Not because I don't want or don't know how to dance...I just chose to be a witness," he said.
Mr Musyoka said "for those who have been asking why our formation has not gone to Bondo to condole with Mr Odinga's widow, Mama Ida, make a date with us on Thursday next week... we will be there in a big way".
"The government wants to pretend it owns Mr Odinga and his ODM Party to an extent of dictating who will mourn, when and how when even when the president was opposed to the very constitution that Mr Odinga pushed through in 2010," he said.
Earlier, there was a tense moment when Kenyatta International Conference Centre Board Chair Mr Sam Waweru faced Gachagua at the burial and told him straight to his face that "we will stop that Wantam reggae that you are leading".
But mourners booed Mr Waweru, accusing him of expressing thoughts not shared by many who were in attendance.
Mr Gachagua helped by the mourners had Mr Waweru stand to be counselled.
"Let us advise this man because he is an upcoming leader. We have a slaughter government. We cannot forgive a slaughterhouse for our children. You cannot come here to lecture us about a government working overdrive to humiliate us as a community," Mr Gachagua told Mr Waweru.
Mr Waweru had delivered greetings from President Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Woman Rep Betty Maina.

"We are collectively agitating for service delivery first and later we pray politics... otherwise just know that this Wantam reggae will die," he said.
However, Gachagua said "we cannot be compelled to follow a government that is killing our agricultural sector, discriminating against us and badmouthing us in public rallies."
"Before you come to lecture us about goodness of this government that has been abducting and murdering our children, tell it to allocate money to waive our coffee debts as well as to lend to our farmers," Mr Gachagua said, adding that the collapse of the Sudan tea market has denied area farmers more than Sh60 billion in returns.
Mr Gachagua also took issue with President Ruto's aide Mr Farouk Kibet accusing him of public campaigns against Mt Kenya people.
"We demand that Mr Kibet cease ridiculing Mt Kenya people and their leaders. He should stop accusing us of having dirty souls. We voted for his boss in 2023. It is only that democracy allows us to vote for someone else in 2027," he said.
