Ten people killed as trailer rams into stalled matatu near Lake Oil Bridge along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.
Ten people have been confirmed dead following a grisly road accident near Lake Oil Bridge in Gilgil along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.
The crash involved a Nissan matatu that was ferrying passengers and a trailer that had reportedly stalled on the road.
Gilgil sub-County police commander Winston Mwakio, who confirmed the accident, said the matatu rammed into the rear of the stationary trailer, leading to the fatal incident.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.
“Officers are on the ground working to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow,” he said.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially along the busy stretch, during the Easter holidays
