What you need to know:
- On Monday, the National Assembly Defence and Foreign Relations Committee, which vetted seven nominees last week, presented its report to the House recommending the appointment of the nominees but with a disclaimer on Mwende Mwinzi’s approval.
- The House is expected to vote on the report on Wednesday, either approving or rejecting it. If approved, the names will be taken to the President for formal appointment.
- Ms Mwinzi can either renounce her US citizenship and take up the job or forget about the prestigious appointment.
