Journalist Willis Raburu has sued East African Breweries Limited (EABL) seeking payment of Sh10 million for advertisement done.

Further, Raburu is urging the High Court to suspend the brewer's licence until he is paid the amount in full.

In the case filed under a certificate of urgency, the former news anchor claims that EABL has violated his rights and deprived him of lawful earning.

Through his company Steizon Limited, Raburu says he was contracted by EABL to carry out advertisements to promote its products under the banner BebaBeba.

He alleges that after delivery of the services, he was not paid and is now exposed to creditors who he had brought on board to carry out the work.

Raburu says he engaged services of artistes who went around the country conducting promotions in relation to the Furaha City Festival Event.

He is asking the court to compel the beer maker to pay him forthwith to salvage the breakdown of families of the artistes and also salvage his reputation which is at stake.

Steizon Limited has named Game Changer Marketing Limited and EABL as respondents.

The firm wants EABL to deposit Sh10 million with the court pending the hearing and determination of the case.

Game Changer allegedly contracted Raburu to provide professional influencing services for the Furaha City Festival Event which took place on December 7, 2024.

The matter is waiting directions from the duty judge.
