Kenya has been starved of a junior women’s 1,500 metres title since Faith Kipyegon’s 2012 triumph in Barcelona.
For Sembeyo, qualifying to represent Kenya is the culmination of years of hard work, discipline, and determination.
This season has been the best of her career so far, earning her a place in Team Kenya for the World Under-20 Championships in Eugene.
