Sale of tickets for Kenya’s crucial Group “A” match against Zambia in the 2024 African Nations Championship (Chan) has been suspended.

The match is scheduled for Sunday at the 48,000-seater Moi International Sports Centre (MISC), Kasarani in Nairobi from 3pm.

According to Mookh Africa, the company tasked with selling Chan match tickets in Kenya, the suspension is due to a breach of security witnessed during the highly-anticipated Group ‘A’ clash between Kenya and giants Morocco at MISC, Kasarani on Sunday.

“Greetings, after the security breach in Kasarani yesterday (on Sunday), ticket sales for Kasarani games have been suspended until further notice from the organizers. Kind regards,” Mookh Africa responded to enquiries by Nation Sport on Monday as to why fans couldn’t purchase tickets for the match online.

Responding to enquiries on why Kenyans were unable to purchase tickets for the match online, Kenya’s Local Oganising Committee Chairman Nicholas Musonye said he has convened a meeting over the matter, and would issue a response later.

“I am entering a meeting over the same, please call me at noon,” Musonye said.

On Sunday, scores of fans breached security at MISC, Kasarani, with some jumping over the fence to access the stadium before Kenya’s Group ‘A’ match against Morocco.
