Gor Mahia close in on 22nd league title with 3-1 win over Murang’a Seal

Gor Mahia inched closer to a 22nd league title after beating Murang'a Seal 3-1 at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
K'Ogalo's number 22 Samuel Kapen put the Football Kenya Federation Premier League leaders ahead after beating Murang'a Seal goalkeeper Wilson Ngamau before chipping the ball over him in the 18th minute.
Kapen's goal led to protests from Murang'a Seal players who wanted the goal ruled out for offside.
Murang'a Seal's captain, Joe Waithira, drew his team level with a rocket in the 35th minute.

The sprightly Shariff Musa restored Gor Mahia's lead in the 51st minute with a low shot to Ngamau's bottom right corner after Murang'a Seal had failed to deal with a Kapen throw-in.
Musa turned provider in the 77th minute as the Ghanaian substitute Ebenezer Assifuah got to the end of his pass to stretch Gor Mahia's lead after rounding Ngamau to tap the ball into an empty net.
Assured of victory, Gor Mahia fans broke into prolonged chants of "Jowi! Jowi!".
Gor Mahia would have won by a bigger margin, but Kapen was denied a brace by the post in the 86th minute, and Jackson Dwang had a goal disallowed in the 88th minute.
The victory helped Gor Mahia maintain their four-point lead over second-placed AFC Leopards with two matches to go.
AFC Leopards had narrowed the gap to just one point after winning 2-1 away to Kakamega Homeboyz at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday.
Gor Mahia, who have 68 points, can seal the league title with a victory away to Mara Sugar next weekend.

In the other match played on Sunday at Kirinyaga's Wang'uru Stadium, Bidco United's relegation to the National Super League was confirmed following a 1-0 loss to Shabana, ending a six-season stay in top-flight football.
Bidco United, 17th with 24 points, are the second team to be relegated from this season's FKF Premier League after 2009 champions Sofapaka suffered the same fate on May 2 after drawing 2-2 with Mathare United. Sofapaka are at the bottom of the league table with 18 points.
