“NMG aims to entertain Kenyan fans nationwide by creating two fan zones, one in the city and potentially another outside the city. These plans will be finalized between Tuesday and Friday,” said Odundo.
Odundo added that NMG was proud to support the Kenyan team and has been providing extensive coverage of the Chan tournament, highlighting it on their front pages.
“I reaffirm NMG’s commitment to sports and youth development, particularly in team sports. NMG is also eager to collaborate with the LOC for future tournaments, including the upcoming Afcon.”
He mentioned the extensive reach of Nation’s 360 platforms -- print, broadcast and online, in East Africa, highlighting the increasing importance of sports as both entertainment and a key economic force.
Musonye stated that the fan zones would help avoid CAF sanctions for the match on Friday and the final on August 30.
“I acknowledged NMG’s leading support, along with other media houses. NMG’s engagement will enhance fan entertainment in and outside Nairobi, especially with Nyayo National Stadium’s limited capacity and Kasarani’s increasing inadequacy. We hope for another Talanta Stadium outside Nairobi to host big matches,” said Musonye.

“We are negotiating with CAF to increase Kasarani’s capacity from the 60 per cent of capacity limit allowed during the Kenya versus Zambia match, where the fans behaved well during the match.”
The FKF, local authorities, and the Ministry of Sports have established six official fan zones at Uhuru Park (Nairobi CBD), Lucky Summer-Ngomongo (behind Kasarani Stadium), Dandora Stadium, Utalii (Stima Club), Jacaranda Grounds, and Kibera DC Grounds.
These zones featured big screens, with security provided by police and crowd marshals.
An additional official fan zone was set up in Nairobi CBD, outside Kenya National Archives.
