Gor Mahia coach Sinisa Mihic has accused a section of his technical bench of backstabbing and blackmail as differenced spectacularly played out yesterday.

From interviews with multiple players and the expressive Croatian himself Nation Sport has established that he sent his assistants Michael Nam and team manager Victor Nyaoro packing ahead of their key Football Kenya Federation Premier League clash with KCB on Sunday.

Yesterday during a training session at Stima Club, Mihic and Nam almost came to blows following a heated argument. The Gor head coach ejected Nam and Nyaoro from the training as he dared them to stay and see which team they would train as players watched in dismay.

Zico didn’t attend the training session having fallen out with Mihic

“There is no way I’m going to work with them because I can’t be blackmailed. These are people I have tried to work with, lent them money.  I have even used my own money to facilitate some of our activities on my own good will. Why are they sabotaging and fighting me?” posed the Croatian.

During Monday’s training session, players waited for hours before training kicked off due to a stand-off  between the coach and his assistants.

A player shared a video with Nation Sport showing Mihic, Nyaoro and Nam in a heated exchange as Otieno and goalkeeper trainer Boniface Oluoch watched.

Mihic has insisted he will maintain professionalism:  “I can’t, out of influence, play those who are not following instructions. Kenyan players are even better than some of the foreigners they want me to field in games. Furthermore, I have served as an assistant coach before in various teams but I haven’t behaved or witnessed such behaviour they are showing. It is bad,” he added.

Efforts to reach Zico, Nam and Nyaoro to comment on these allegations proved fruitless as they didn’t pick calls from this scribe. Mihic has said his plan is to use the players on merit and win the league then if he will still be at K’Ogalo, he will draw a transfer plan to get good players and release those he feel doesn’t fit in his system.

Mihic was appointed Gor Mahia coach on February 3 following the sacking of Brazilian Leonardo Neiva.
