Njoroge Kibugu bags first PGK Equator Tour title at Sigona

Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club player, Njoroge Kibugu, produced a final round of two under par 70, to claim his first PGK Equator Tour title at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club course on Sunday.
Kibugu registered an all-round total of nine under par 279 at the par 72 course.
“I am happy to final win a tournament on this tour. The course was in excellent condition and although wind was blowing very strongly and there were tight pin positions on the course. I am glad I maintained my position at the top of the leaderboard up to the end," said the 22-year-old.
Kibugu added that he will continue practicing for the next event in the series planned for January.

PGK Order of Merit
Njoroge has been in great form since winning the sixth leg of the tournament held at the Diamonds Leisure Golf Resort in Diani, where he displayed his best round of seven under 65 for an all-round total of eight under par 280 to tie with Mutahi Kibugu, who had carded three under par 69 in the final round.
Njoroge, who is now under the sponsorship of NCBA along Edwin Mudanyi, Erick Ooko and Abraham Galgalo, took home Sh201,000 plus 1,000 points towards the PGK Order of Merit for collecting a total of 2,980 points to finish in third place in the Order of Merit.
Samuel Njoroge, who now moves to second place with a total of 3,280 points, earned Sh138,750, same as Mutahi Kibugu who is in seventh place in the Order of Merit with 2,128 points.
Meanwhile, series leader Greg Snow shot four under par 68 to finish fourth on five under par total of 283, just a shot better than Karen’s Edwin Mudanyi who was on 284. A total of 20 players had made the second round cut.
The eighth leg of the tournament will take place from January 8th to 11, 2026 at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, followed by the ninth leg at Royal Nairobi Golf Club from January 22 to 25, 2026.
The grand finale will take place at Muthaiga Golf Club in February just before the Magical Kenya Open.
