He braved the grueling Safari Rally 18 times, successfully crossing the finish line 15 times, a monumental feat of endurance and skill.
I have known Abdul for more than 20 years, ever since I stepped onto The Standard’s Sports Desk as a young editor in 2006. From the first weekend of motorsports, he became my mentor and my friend.
Abdul was a true titan, a legendary journalist, a masterful navigator, and a media guru who poured more than four decades of his life into motorsports. Working alongside him over the years was a huge honour.
