Kenya names 24-rider team for FIM Africa Motocross in Namibia
Team Kenya to the 2026 FIM Africa Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) set for Windhoek.
Twenty-four riders and seven officials will represent Kenya at this year’s FIM Africa Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) in Windhoek, Namibia, from August 28 to 30.
The competition will take place at Gallina Motocross Park.
MXoAN is Africa's premier national team motocross championship.
The competition, held annually, brings together national teams from across the continent to compete across multiple age and engine classes.
The Kenyan team comprises riders spanning eight classes - from the youngest competitors in the MX 50 class to senior riders in MX 1 and the Veterans category.
The seven-man technical delegation accompanying the riders includes coach Walter Kuria.
"This team represents the best of Kenyan motocross. These riders have earned their place through competition, and they travel to Namibia with the full support of MSFK (Motorcycle Sport Federation of Kenya) and the Government of Kenya. We are proud of every one of them," said Motorcycle Sport MSFK president Renzo Bernardi.
Bernardi spoke on Saturday during the team’s flag off at Jamhuri Motocross Track in Nairobi.
The performance in the MXoAN will inform the selection of riders to represent Africa at the Motocross of Nations in France and the WMX Cup in Australia - the sport's two premier world team events.
Team Kenya's results in Namibia will therefore have direct implications for Kenya's international motorsport standing.

Team Kenya’s campaign has been made possible through the support of the government and personal commitment and investment of the riders and their families. The motorcycles for the Kenyan team will leave Nairobi by road on August 15, travelling approximately 5,500 kilometres through Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.
The riders will fly out on August 26.
