KCB Rugby have won a record sixth Kenya National Sevens Circuit title.
Although the bankers relinquished the Christie Sevens title to Menengai Oilers earlier on Sunday after failing to reach the final of Christie Sevens, they had done enough to guarantee themselves the National Sevens Circuit title by reaching the semi-finals of the tournament at RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
Having won the Prinsloo Sevens title, Kabeberi Sevens, and Embu Sevens, KCB only needed to reach the semi-finals of Christie Sevens to retain the series title.

Kabras Sugar, who have won two events in the national circuit, were waiting on the wings for any slip-up by the bankers in the quarter-finals, but even then, the sugar millers would have had to go all the way and win the Christie Sevens to claim the national series.
Christie Sevens is the sixth and final round of the national circuit. The team that wins the most rounds wins the national circuit. Impala, Kenya Harlequin, and Mwamba RFC have each won four National Sevens Circuit titles.
KCB finished third in Christie Sevens after beating Kabras Sugar 5-0 in sudden death in the third place play-off match.
KCB had edged out National Youth Service (NYS) Spades 31-5 to reach the semi-finals, breaking the hearts of Kabras Sugar, who also beat Club Africa 24-12 to reach the semis.
However, the two giants fell in the semi-finals and ended up meeting in the bronze medal play-off match. KCB went down to Strathmore University Leos 19-12 while Kabras Sugar lost to Menengai Oilers 20-10.
KCB collected 17 points from Christie Sevens on Sunday to top the table of standings with 115 points, as Kabras settled for second place with 107 points after collecting 15 points from Christie Sevens.

It’s Kenya Sevens co-captain George Oroo who nailed the sudden-death try against Kabras Sugar that lifted KCB to victory. KCB had beaten Kabras Sugar 19-12 to lift Prinsloo Sevens, and beat Strathmore Leos 14-12 to win Kabeberi Sevens. They also beat Kabras Sugar 12-10 to prevail at Embu Sevens.
Kabras Sugar claimed a double in the series, beating Menengai Oilers 17-5 at the Dala Sevens final, and KCB 15-5 at Driftwood Sevens.
It is KCB’s sixth series win after their previous exploits in 2013, 2014, 2019, 2023 and 2025, making them the only side to have won the circuit six times.
The Leos took the lead against KCB in the semis when Arnold Mwita landed an unconverted try as Collins Maina extended the lead to 12–0 with a converted try.

Austin Sikutwa hit back for KCB with a converted try before Festus Shiasi went for a similar try to level the proceedings at 12-12. Strathmore were then awarded a penalty try before holding their fort to win.
Gracious Owino put Oilers ahead with a try, but Jackson Siketi responded immediately for Kabras to level 5-5 in the see-saw clash. Owino put Oilers back in the driver’s seat at 10–5, only for Derrick Ashiundu’s try to level the proceedings at 10-10. The Oilers would touch down two more tries to put away the clash.
