Foul Atwoli • Cotu Secretary-General Francis Atwoli should apologise for declaring that “nobody wants to associate with a poor man”, while trashing Okoiti Omtatah’s 2027 presidential bid, says Nicholas Murithi. “Those words have left many people disappointed and frustrated! Was Atwoli born rich? Leadership is about service and integrity, not just riches.” His contact is [email protected].

Left out • The Affordable Housing Programme is a good idea as the construction of houses is already creating jobs and providing other benefits, says Douglas Kaumbuthu Aritho. However, he wonders why nothing of the sort is happening in his Meru County. “Can anyone explain why only some particular places have been chosen for this housing project?” His email address is [email protected].

In the dark • Urgently calling Kenya Power is loyal customer Joram Mkunde, who is appalled by the frequent blackouts in Taveta. “We’ve suffered for many years and yet nothing is being done about it. Electrical equipment is damaged during power surges. It’s got worse during the current rainy season. We are told only having a power station will solve the problem.” His contact is [email protected].

Downfall • Moi University, which got its charter in 1984, becoming the second public varsity in the country, was a source of national pride but has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons, says David Yator. “High-level corruption has almost brought the university to its knees.” The university, he adds, has been let down by managers notorious for impunity. His email address is [email protected].

Greed • What caught Evans Macharia’s eye during a visit to the Central Police Station in Nairobi, he says, was a poster on the wall declaring that “Only the greedy are conned”. This, Evans adds, could never be truer. “Whenever you listen to or watch the news or read the newspapers, they just confirm the truth in that poster. But Kenyans seem to never learn.” His contact is [email protected].

Have truthful day, won’t you!
