Two die after truck catches fire along Eldoret-Webuye road

What you need to know:

  • Witnesses said the driver flashed the headlights several times on approaching vehicles before he lost control.
  • Fire fighters from West Kenya Sugar Company and Bungoma County helped put out the fire.
  • Bungoma East OCPD Zacchaeus Ng’eno said the incident could have been caused by failed brakes.

A truck driver and an unidentified passenger have been burnt to death after their vehicle burst into flames near Kaburengu market in Bungoma County along the Eldoret-Webuye road.

The truck, which was headed towards Bungoma from Eldoret, veered off the road before plunging into ditch on Monday night.
