Seven killed and 27 injured in Mombasa-Nairobi highway crash
Seven people killed and 27 others injured in a multiple-vehicle crash near Salama Township on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
Seven people were killed and 27 others were injured in a horrific accident involving a bus, a truck and two cars near Salama Township on the Mombasa–Nairobi highway.
According to witnesses, the 28-seater bus was travelling towards Nairobi when it collided with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.
The injured were taken to Sultan Hamud Sub-county Hospital.
Mukaa Sub-county Police Commander Abduba Gura said that investigations are ongoing, adding that the accident also caused a heavy traffic jam.
"Three women and four men travelling in the bus died at the scene," he said.
The bodies were taken to the hospital mortuary for preservation ahead of identification and post-mortem examination.
