Siaya bets big on Sh500bn nuclear plant as Orengo defends project

Siaya Governor James Orengo has strongly defended a proposed multibillion-shilling nuclear power project earmarked for the county, saying it will not only transform Siaya into an economic powerhouse but also place Kenya on the global map of clean and stable energy producers.
In an exclusive interview with the Nation ahead of the Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference scheduled for October 14–17, Mr Orengo described the Sh500 billion nuclear facility as the centerpiece of Siaya’s economic vision.
