What you need to know:

Men can help to detect breast cancer by feeling the lumps early enough, so the woman can seek medical help

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if as many men as women would go through breast cancer, especially if breasts played a key role in their image as it does in women.

I wonder because early in my profession, I met a man with penile cancer, which is quite rare cancer but one that has unprecedented treatment options. The man I met had been advised on amputation of the penis. An amputation requires chopping off the diseased part as a way of treatment. The man refused the procedure, as he could not imagine living without his manhood; he opted to die with it intact and unfortunately, that is the fate that eventually befell him.
