Emma Jalamo's Pre-Valentines treat for Ohangla fans

As a prelude to next week’s Valentines’ Day activities, Ohangla star Emma Jalamo will on Sunday stage a live performance at the Anchor Address, Marurui on the Northern Bypass on the outskirts of Nairobi.
But before that show, Jalamo will perform on Saturday at Vibanda Village, Upper Hill in Nairobi.
He is expected to perform some of his popular songs such as We Chayo Jathum, Amilo Nyar Nyakach and Utanikumbuka.
For Rhumba fans in Nairobi, Johnny Junior and his BV Band will tonight (Saturday) host the Rhumba Soiree show at HB Flight Embakasi.
According to the organisers, revellers will have a choice between general entry or limited reserved seating. The event to be hosted by Dee Presenter 001 will also feature the best of Rhumba music mix with DJ Reagan. Entrance is Sh1,000 and Sh1,500 (reserved). The event starts at 8pm.
Fathers and Sons Rhumba Party
Elsewhere, Benelix Lounge at Greenspan Mall in Donholm estate will tonight (Saturday) host ‘Fathers and Sons Rhumba Party.’ VDJ Numz is expected to treat revellers to the best of rhumba music. Entrance will be Sh350 (advance) and Sh500 (gate). The show starts at noon.
In Nakuru, Eastmark Hotel will next Saturday host the Valentine’s Day dinner and jazz show where revellers will be treated to a special buffet. Charges for the event that starts at 7pm will be Sh2,500 (single) and Sh4,500 (couple).
Next Friday, Rosslyn Square Luxury Mall will host the Wine and Cheese – Valentines Edition. Entrance will be Sh500. The event will start at 3pm and end at 7pm.
At the Village Market Food Court in Gigiri next Saturday will be ‘Sweet and Spice’ affair, with live entertainment from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free.
Valentines’ Day special show
At the same time, T- Point Arcade Gardens at Kitengela in Kajiado County will next Saturday host a Valentines’ Day special show dubbed ‘Lovers and Friends Masquerade Affair’.
There will be various games and plenty of delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices. Black will be the dress code for the day
The event, which will be hosted by Beats Brunch Culture, will also feature the best of Bongo, Hip hop and Rhumba by DJs Raybuirn, Hatey and Vaice. Entrance will be Sh1,000 (advance), Sh1,600 (couple advance) and Sh1.500. The event starts at 2pm.
Meanwhile, arrangements are underway for an all-ladies chess tournament dubbed Chess Dada. The tournament will be held at Kiota School on State House road on March 7, 2026.
According to event coordinator, Bernhard Bindar, the tournament’s aims to promote the game of chess among ladies. Notably, the event will coincide with the International Woman’s Day.
