Covid-19: Kenya records 30,120 cases, nearly 700 more recoveries

What you need to know:
- The number of recoveries rose significantly, by 686 to hit 16,656, with the trend of more home recoveries persisting. A total of 626 of those discharged were under home-based care and 60 at health facilities.
- With the testing of 3,746 samples in the last 24 hours, the total number of samples tested in the country rose to 391,416.
- Nairobi accounted for the highest number of new cases among counties with 126 and then came Busia with 14, Kirinyaga with 13, Machakos and Narok with 12 each, Kiambu with 11 and Kajiado, Kitui and Nakuru with 10 each.
Kenya crossed the 30,000 mark of coronavirus cases on Sunday after the Health ministry announced that 271 more people had tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country, which announced its first one on March 13, therefore reached 30,120 on August 16.
