Let’s have fun without forgetting what Christmas truly represents
What you need to know:
- Christmas is the day that we remember the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
- Christmas is a joyous moment that we remember the love of God for all humanity.
It’s that time of the year again. Yes, it’s Christmas season and pretty soon, the new year.
Once again, it is the season of joy, a season to celebrate, a season to give more than to receive.
It has been a long year, nay, a tough one. This has been 2021, the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic year, which has affected all of us.
Despite the changing school calendar, the limping economy and the various Covid-19 waves, we are still alive. That is something to thank God for, but still stay safe. For this, we really deserve this holiday break.
Let us have good time with our friends and loved ones.
But as we indulge, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Many people have abused this holiday break by drinking, doing drugs, holding wild late night parties and orgies.
Christmas is the day that we remember the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
Meaning of Christmas
It is the day that we remember God’s love for all. In the book of John 3:16, we learn that God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. This is proof of God’s unconditional love for humanity.
Thus, Christmas is a joyous moment that we remember the love of God for all humanity.
The true meaning of Christmas is appreciating God’s love for us and reciprocating that love by showing it to others.
Friends, let us love one another because love comes from God and God is love (1 John 5:7). Share the love and joy that this season brings with others for without love we are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2).
This season, be ready to be used. Be the answer to someone’s prayer.
God uses workers and not idlers. Paul encourages us to work in 2 Thessalonians 3:6. Let us also find joy in our work. Help out wherever you can during these difficult times for we are stronger together.
Spread the gospel of Jesus Christ’s birth for through him we are saved. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
