A senator known to find happiness in the presence of older women endured uncomfortable moments after members of the party’s youth league openly challenged him to marry as he was no longer a young person. The lawmaker was among those who had addressed the youths during the party’s high-profile celebrations. Those in the know say the youths were forced to attack him after he appeared to amorously pursue every woman leader who attended the meeting. As embarrassing as it was, the lawmaker could not respond as he exhausted his time to address the gathering.

Former top cop set for comeback
A former top police officer is set to make a comeback in the National Police Service thanks to the broad-based government. Our little bird at Vigilance House whispered to Talk of Town that it is just a matter of time before the officer, who still has some respect among junior officers, makes a grand return to the service. All that is being awaited is the retirement of a senior serving police officer before the changes are made. Although the man may not directly replace the retiring security boss, he is expected to land a senior position in preparations for the 2027elections.

MP develops cold feet in campaigns
An MP close to a high-ranking government official tasked with delivering victory in a by-election is not happy with the assignment accorded to him. The lawmaker is apprehensive that the senior politician is getting handed a noose around his neck should he fail to deliver victory in the knife-edge contest that opposition figures have pledged to use in making a statement in the region. He has asked his powerful ally to tread carefully next time before accepting such risky assignments that could easily be used as evidence to demote him in the political pecking order.

Call-recording PS in trouble
Members of Parliament are angry with a PS who has developed a Sonko-like habit of recording every call received on his phone. She is said to have recorded a conversation with a chair of the committee which oversights her. The chair is furious and has demanded an explanation from the PS on why she recorded the conversation despite its private nature. The chair has even threatened to sponsor a motion of censure. The PS has pleaded for mercy promising to secure a good deal for the chair should she be forgiven but the angry man appears determined to teach her a lesson.

Legislator, CS chased out by big man
A senior government official kicked out a top parliamentarian from his office after he appeared to celebrate the death of a politician who was for a long time his rival. The parliamentarian had tugged along a CS from Western Kenya with a mission of telling the official to take advantage of the situation and help dismantle an institution that the fallen leader had created. The parliamentarian always looked small in the eyes of the departed politician and his thinking was that he could now consolidate his political support. The big man ordered them out of his mansion.

Leader who prefers interviews in vernacular
A top politico and leader of a new political formation is now worrying newsrooms by his habit of declining most interviews from platforms broadcasting in national languages. He only accepts interviews from vernacular stations broadcasting in his native language with whispers on whether his presidential ambition is for only that one particular region. He recently angered the crew of top journalists from a media house after cancelling an interview at the eleventh hour. Whenever he accepts to appear in a national station, he demands to be shown all the questions that will be asked.
