He said the opposition was keen on distracting the government from its mission to deliver development programmes across the country.

Speaking on Saturday during an empowerment forum in Maara, Tharaka Nithi County, the Deputy President said the William Ruto administration was on course in fulfilling its promises to Kenyans.
“It is not yet time for premature political battles. The opposition is enticing us to join them in politics, but they should hold on. Just ignore their invitation because we have a lot to deliver, including ensuring roads, electricity, and market projects are completed on time,” the DP said.
“When it comes to politics, we are also experts. We will show them dust when the campaigns start officially.”

Prof Kindiki said the government was undertaking several projects in Tharaka Nithi, including roads, markets, and rural electrification.
The DP said he was closely following up on all projects to ensure they are completed on time.
“We are in the process of completing all the stalled roads in the county. These include the Chogoria–Mutindwa–Weru Road and the Keeria–Magutuni–Kathwana Road, which was abandoned in 2018. We are also building new roads to improve the transport network,” he said.
Prof Kindiki said the redesign of the multi-billion-shilling Nithi Bridge was underway following the allocation of Sh7 billion.
President Ruto had earlier promised to redesign and rebuild the bridge, which has been blamed for multiple crashes that have claimed hundreds of lives.
“We already have the money for the reconstruction of Nithi Bridge. We will build and complete it, and the President will be here to launch it.

No one told Moi to serve one term, no one told Kibaki to serve one term, and no one told Uhuru to serve one term, yet all of them failed to rebuild Nithi Bridge. But Ruto is doing it, and now we are being told he should serve for one term. It won’t happen. He will serve for two terms and complete the Nithi Bridge to save our people from more deadly crashes,” Prof Kindiki said.
The DP said more modern markets would be built in Tharaka Nithi County, as more land had been made available.
He was accompanied by county Deputy Governor Nyaga Muisiraeli and Woman Representative Susan Ngugi.
