Is a top official in one of the three arms of government sulking about the recent Cabinet reshuffle? Word has it that he is not pleased with the latest move – what his aides call “arbitrary changes”. No one is sure what exactly ticked him off, but whispers suggest the man is furious “his people” can’t settle into roles before they’re shuffled out again like poker cards. With plans still underway to see him out, the state mandarin is reportedly distressed and exploring options – including developing a spine and confronting the one who signs the appointment letters.

Motorbike millions mayhem

A manager at one of the country’s leading motorcycle firms has vowed to spill the beans after he was sent on compulsory leave for reportedly stealing close to Sh10 million. The beleaguered man, who was poached by the company from another firm, was sent on leave after an audit revealed he colluded with other managers and the HR department to fleece the company. He has vowed not to go down alone, saying he will present his dossier on how the company, run mainly by foreigners, violated Kenyan laws on route sales, branding and marketing fees, among other operations.

Fake love at the big house

A political figure was left wide-eyed this week after a dramatic twist during a meeting at a known strategic address. His nemesis – the one who never misses a chance to throw jabs – suddenly rose in his defence before the boss. Touched? Don’t be. The “defender” is reportedly leading the silent campaign to have him kicked out. The heartfelt speech? Just smoke and mirrors to soften the blow. Sources say the betrayed man got intel immediately after the meeting. His opponent had simply handed him a hug with a knife taped to the back.

Second-term lawmaker cries foul

A second-term lawmaker, who thought he was finally cashing in on loyalty, was left blinking in disbelief when a committee reshuffle saw him leap from hopeful to sidelined. The man had been gunning for a juicy chairperson post – one he claims was promised in return for a recent political errand. Now, with nothing to show and his political pockets empty, the politician is sulking in committee meetings and telling anyone who cares to listen that he’s been used and dumped. Still, he insists he will not quit, hoping for future rewards.

Door slammed shut for ex-MP

A former lawmaker who joined the government before the political truce between ODM chief Raila Odinga and President William Ruto was barred from seeing a senior leader in the new dispensation. The man, who was in one of the many parastatals that have been scrapped, was in town to have a word with the senior leader but his efforts were thwarted by the big man’s handlers. The desperate politician wanted to plead his case to the man who now has a say in who gets a job in the government, to at least have something to keep him busy until 2027.
He was, however, told he was an unwanted man and should leave immediately.

Bunge man left badly exposed

A top parliamentary official, known for his backroom deals than front-office work, is sweating bullets. His longtime partner-in-shady-deals – an official in the Executive – was recently re-assigned to a post in the continent, leaving the parliamentary man exposed and panicking. For two years, the man has reportedly amassed a fortune through a now-dismissed official. He was overheard lamenting that his downfall – along with his political ambitions – is imminent following the appointment of a no-nonsense successor. It is said he has vowed to sabotage the new PS unless he maintains the illicit arrangements of his predecessor.
