Rosalynn Mndolwa-Mworia appointed MD of Mwananchi Communications Limited.
Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nation Media Group (NMG), has announced the appointment of Rosalynn Mndolwa-Mworia as its new Managing Director, effective April 29, 2025.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by MCL board Chairperson, David C Nchimbi.
Ms Mndolwa-Mworia, who assumes the office immediately, is taking over from Victor Mushi, who has served as Acting Managing Director since September 2024.
Mr Mushi transitions to the role of Executive Editor, Digital Innovation at Nation Media Group, where he will spearhead digital content and audience engagement strategies across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
“Rosalynn’s appointment is a major milestone in MCL’s transformation. Her proven ability to lead strategic initiatives, drive digital innovation, foster a customer-first culture, and deliver sustainable growth positions her perfectly to steer MCL into the future,” Mr Nchimbi said.
With over 23 years of leadership experience across telecommunications, shipping and logistics, financial services, and insurance industries, Ms Mndolwa-Mworia is expected to stir MCL’s ambitious transformation journey towards becoming the most trusted, empowering, and innovative digital-first content platform in Tanzania.

She is famous for her expertise in strategic leadership and corporate governance, with a career that reflects a deep understanding of the intersection between business, technology, and media
Her expertise in strategic communications, stakeholder management, and driving organizational growth will be pivotal in accelerating MCL’s mission to deliver impactful journalism, relevant content and exceptional service to Tanzanians and beyond across our various businesses.
She will lead MCL's overall operations and strategic efforts in driving the digital transformation agenda. She will also focus on expanding MCL’s digital capabilities, growing the current business, and diversifying into new areas within the evolving media landscape.
Until her appointment, Ms Mndolwa-Mworia served as Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Ventures Ltd, a consultancy that she founded.
She had previously held several senior leadership positions at Vodacom Tanzania PLC, including Corporate Affairs Director and CEO of the Vodacom Tanzania Foundation, and at Maersk Line, where she led national sales, among others.
Ms Mndolwa-Mworia holds an MBA and BSc in Accounting & Business Management, both from Wayne State College, USA, and is an AoEC Certified Executive Coach.
