Charges against the proprietors include conspiracy to defraud and operating unlicensed health facilities.
Also to face charges is Mr Harun Liluma, an employee of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga has recommended the prosecution of more than 15 proprietors of private hospitals suspected of receiving millions of fraudulent payments from government insurer Social Health Authority (SHA).
Mr Ingonga said in a statement on February 25 that it had reviewed the files from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and recommended the prosecution of the proprietors for receiving millions fraudulently, from SHA.
