Last weekend saw a spectacle on a WhatsApp platform where several women believed to have children out of wedlock with a top politician received a video in which Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua had told President William Ruto: “Don’t fight the (Nderitu) Gachagua will. Take time to read it. ” The videos were sent from one source, and our mole understands that it was a way of letting the women know that their secret liaisons with the top man and his “complicated family” are known.
PS handler kicked out of key meeting
A PS in a ministry gripped with scandals was shocked when an aide was told by development partners to leave an online meeting as the PS was not invited. The PS is known to arm-twist other officials in deals the ministry is involved in. Our snitch says the man was shocked and embarrassed by the scuttling of plans to edge out other officials believed to be enjoying cordial relationships with the development partners. The PS’s bid to be represented by the handler hit a snag as the development partners insisted that the person was not wanted in the meeting.
MPs bay for troubled minister’s blood
MPs from the backyard of a Cabinet Secretary are happy over the troubles befalling the man. The MPs were heard whispering at Bunge Towers on Thursday that should an impeachment motion surface in the House, they would back it. They accuse the man of being stingy and never helpful, even in constituency development. The MPs hope the matter facing the man escalates to an impeachment motion. The sentiments are shared across the political divide in the two Houses of Parliament, with lawmakers saying the man has never been of use to them.
Zoning shocker for lawmaker
An MP from Nyanza is not happy with his party boss. The lawmaker thought the party leader would support zoning to lock out her opponent, who is seen to be making advances as the General Election approaches. What has angered the lawmaker more is reports that the party boss has vowed the primaries will, for the first time, be conducted transparently, without tolerating sacred cows. Her insiders have, however, vowed to use any available option – including ensuring that their pockets are deeper than before – in order to sway the seemingly strict party chief.
Cabinet Secretary’s motive questioned
A Cabinet Secretary is said to have gone into a frenzy last week, holding press conferences to condemn what befell a leader. The CS, according to our mole, opened his purse and poured millions of shillings to any group or individual willing to call a presser to condemn the act. In Parliament, the man is said to have sponsored at least three groups that addressed the press separately. A bird told us that the man intends to use the act, among others to launch his presidential bid by bolting out of the Executive, accusing it of being insensitive to ordinary Kenyans.
No ‘party after party’ for honchos
Staff of a county were stranded at the gates of a meeting point after what was meant to be an exclusive dinner turned into a night of confusion. The invite-only event raised expectations among the politicos who viewed it as an honour. But as attendees streamed in, it quickly became clear that all was not as organised as it seemed. Despite holding what they believed were valid invitations, they were denied entry, with security maintaining a firm line. The result was a growing crowd of frustrated employees, some making frantic calls in a bid to gain access, others resigning to fate. They left, frustrated.
