Kiplagat Chebii crowned 'King of the Course'

What you need to know:

  • The men’s winner was Harpreet Sagoo, who posted 42 points to beat Zafir Din on count back, while Vishnu Dhutia was third on 41 points.
  • In the seniors category, Gulam Khaku won with 37 points, while Aydan Jamal posted 43 points to claim the junior title. The longest drive men winner was Eric Nyongesa. The nearest to Pin winner was Vishnu Dhutia, who holed in One at the par three-18th hole.

Royal Nairobi Golf Club’s Kiplagat Chebii emerged the 2021 ICEA "Lion King of the course" first leg champion, after posting an impressive 41 points at the par 72 Machakos Golf Club course at the weekend.

Playing off handicap 16, Chebii, bogeyed the fourth and seventh for an impressive front nine score of 24 points. And despite picking up more bogeys at the back nine’s 12th, 15th and 16th with a seven at the par four- 13th and another triple bogey at the par three-17th, 17 points was still good enough for the overall title.
