Rono recently carded seven-over-par 217 to claim the Malindi title, finishing ahead of Alex Mwangi of Windsor.
The 2026 Diani Beach Masters has attracted leading amateur players including Kevin Anyien and Kamoza Longwe, Alex Mwangi.
Leading the ladies’ challenge will be Kenyan amateur champion Kellie Gachaga of Karen, Mercy Nyanchama, Doris Mideva, the Ngecu sisters Bianca and Brianna, and Kanana Muthomi.
Red-hot Josphat Rono is among the players to watch at the NCBA Diani Beach Masters, which tees off today at Diamond Leisure Beach and Golf Resort.
Rono, whose maiden title in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) came at the 2024 NCBA Golf Park Open, recently carded seven-over-par 217 to claim the Malindi title, finishing ahead of Alex Mwangi of Windsor, who returned 10-over-par 220.
