Kenyan hockey teams Sikh Union Club (men) and United States International University Africa (USIU-A) Spartans women missed out on final berths of the African Cup for Clubs Champions after failing to secure must-win victories in their last pool matches on Wednesday at the Youth City Hockey Stadium in Port Said, Ismail, Egypt.
Sikh Union played to a thrilling 4-4 draw against Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) from Ghana, while Spartans was held to a 1-1 draw by Plateau from Nigeria. The results meant both teams finished second in their pools, forcing them to compete for bronze medals on Friday instead of the gold medal matches.
