Rajveer Thethy posted the fastest time of the day after three heats to emerge victorious in the 4wd class during the second round of the Shell Autocross championship in Kiambu County on Sunday.

Harpreet Singh Bhogai won the 2wd turbo buggy category in front of hundreds of motorsport fans who thronged the 300-acre Twisty 2 Track Circuit to watch 40 drivers jostle for top honours.

Other winners of the day were Neel Gohil (open class), Jose Sardinia (4wd non-turbo), Cheche Ababu (cadet junior), Alan Bengi (Beta junior) and Sean Njumbi, who won the alpha junior class.

Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi reiterated the group's commitment to the 2025 Autocross season.

Mr Murungi said Vivo Energy is dedicated to nurturing motorsport talent in the country in line with Shell's enduring legacy in motorsport, which spans over 75 years globally.

"We are committed to supporting the autocross, fostering its growth, and cultivating a new generation of motorsport talent. We aim to reignite the success of legends like Joginder Singh and Shekhar Mehta, ensuring their legacy lives on," Mr Murungi said.

Clerk of Course Mindo Gatimu termed the event a big success, with more than 40 crews participating in the new format.

This achievement, he noted, is a testament to the growing popularity and success of the Shell Autocross championship.
