The government is yet to enforce punitive measures against mobile operators who fail to register their subscribers’ SIM cards as a law mandating such steps is awaiting clearance at the Attorney General’s office.

The Ministry of Information and Communication has drafted regulations guiding mobile operators on the SIM card deactivation process and outlining penalties for non-compliance.
