Great shows that Rhumba lovers can’t afford to miss

What you need to know:

  • T-Point Gardens in Kitengela will today host Rhumba Experience- Ankara Edition.
  • Johnny Junior and his BV Band will perform at Azuri Inn Resort, Ugunja in Siaya.

Several Rhumba shows have been lined at various entertainment spots across the country this month, beginning with Rhumba Experience- Ankara Edition today at the T-Point Gardens, Kitengela.

Dragon and the Golden Band, DJs Collo Ace, Queen B, Kyra and Jazbah will thrill fans at the show that begins at 11am. Entrance charges are Sh1,500 (advance) and at Sh2,000 at the gate.

Also today, Johnny Junior and his BV Band will perform at Azuri Inn Resort at Ugunja in Siaya County. The show will mark the first anniversary of the popular entertainment spot. Rhumba DJ Aladeen will also perform.

Then on August 17, the Red Room, Adlife Plaza in Kilimani will host a special Rhumba extravaganza. Among those expected to perform will be DJ Marto Sibour, Bilenge Musica Du Congo and the Bana Mazembe Band. The dress code for the Sunday afternoon show will be Sapeur.

Elsewhere, arrangements are in place for the Back and Forth Rhumba show at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi on August 30. 

Revellers will enjoy Rhumba music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, with Les Wanyika Band, Bana Mazembe Band, DJ Marto Sibuor and DJ Vic all expected to perform. There will also be plenty of food and drinks. The dress code will be black and gold. 

Meanwhile, the Braeburn Theatre on Gitanga Road, Nairobi will next Saturday host the BYSS-Wuuehh! Show. The variety show starts at 6pm and ends at 9pm. Advance tickets are going for Sh3,500.

The same day, the Ballpoint Social Club at Village Market will host the Femme Fusion-August edition, featuring performances by Wendy Kay, N'Jiru, and June on the Moon. Advance tickets are going for Sh1,000 while at the gate tickets will retail at Sh1,500.

On August 15, the Small World Country Club, Athi River will host the Almarized Experience – Hidden Gem Show. The event will feature a series of activities that focus on food, travel and music. Revellers will have the opportunity to network and socialise. The event will run from 6pm to dawn.

In Tigoni, the Liquor Library will host Open Wine Sunsets -2 on August 23. Revellers are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or camping chairs. Entrance is Sh,1500 (advance) and Sh2,000 at the gate.

Elsewhere, the Gembe Resort at Lwanda Centre in Mbita, Homa Bay County, will this weekend host a variety show with plenty food and drinks for revelers.

In Eldoret, Tamasha Sports Bar and Grill will on Sunday host Afrobeat Amapiano by King of Good Times. The same venue hosts Tamasha Wednesday Nights with DJ Splash, DJ M and Mc Nick.
