Obulala Festivals to be held at Nairobi’s Carnivore Restaurant

A special show dedicated to cultural and music from Western Kenya, dubbed Obulala Festivals, is set to be held on September 5 at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi.
The show will feature performances by Steve Kay, Emmanuel Musindi, Harry Richie, Vincent Ongidi, Opeta wa Musungu, Single P and Kituyi Wanyonyi. There will be plenty of Luhya delicacies. Entrance is Sh1,500 (advance), Sh2,000 (gate) and Sh5,000 (VIP). The event is organised by Luhya Nation.
Meanwhile, a variety show featuring music, dance, food, and epic colour throws is set to be held today at Suburbs Grill and Grounds, Luna Park in Kikuyu.
Those expected to perform include DJ Kalonje, Sean MMG, MC Disso and MC Katika. It will be a day for revellers to bond, dancing in the rainbow haze and joining fun workshops. The show starts at 11am and ends at 7pm. Entrance is Sh1,000 (advance) and Sh1,200. (gate)
Elsewhere, arrangements are in place for the Back and Forth – Rhumba to be held next Saturday at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi. It will be an evening for the best of Rhumba music from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.
Those expected to perform will be the Les Wanyika Band, Bana Mazembe Band, DJ Marto Sibuor and DJ VIC. There will be plenty of food and drinks. Dress code will be black and gold.
At the Ballpoint Social Club, Village Market, next Friday, it will be the Poetry Evening. The event starts at 6pm.
Elsewhere at Tigoni today, it will be the Open Wine Sunsets -2 at the Liquor Library Tigoni. Revellers are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or camping chairs.. Entrance is Sh1,500 (advance) and Sh2,000 (gate).
In Mombasa, arrangements are in full gear for a special show to mark the 49th anniversary of the founding of the legendary Les Mangelepa Band next Saturday at the Sensera Gardens in Kiembeni.
The live event organised by Panya Buku Entertainment will double as the second anniversary of the death of mercurial singer Kalenga Nzazi “Vivi”. Among those expected to perform will be Kabila Kabanze, Lutulu Kanicky Macky, Twikwale Wa Twikwale, Paddy Makani and the up-and-coming singer Toto Illunga. Popular Mombasa radio presenter Mzee wa Kiti of Rhumba Explosion will lead the event. Entry is free.
In Mtwapa, the Club Legend 2.0 hosts the Bum Bum Show every Thursday. There is a free entrance for the 15 ladies with a cocktail. The show is hosted by Lady Blinky and MC Chapatizo.
Meanwhile, in Naivasha, the Hell’s Gate National Park will next Saturday host the Hells Gate Biking Fest-2025. This two-day annual extravaganza isn't just for cyclists, but a weekend adventure designed for everyone.
Revellers will also have the opportunity to visit the Hell's Gate National Park by walking or cycling with friends.
