Trouble for politician’s staff

Handlers of an opposition politician are scratching their heads over how to boost the image of their boss, who keeps falling into traps laid by opponents. The handlers were heard complaining that their boss reveals too much whenever provoked by those on the government side. They are concerned that he is fighting too many battles simultaneously, which could prove costly and difficult to manage ahead of the 2027 polls. The aides were overheard whispering that he has started losing his political trajectory and risks being exposed in the 2027 elections. Worse still, the man has recently become hostile to professional and strategic advice.

Powerful aide locked out

An influential aide has been chased from a powerful office and has been “working remotely” as he tries to return to the fold. Our mole says the wife of the principal got fed up with the aide’s conduct and ordered him out. Even though the man remains a powerful figure, his expulsion has put him in an awkward position. He now spends most of his time attending political events and mobilising at the grassroots level to prove his usefulness to the boss.

Senior House officer in trouble

A parliamentary officer eyeing a senior position that is currently vacant could be in for a rude shock. According to our source within the corridors of Parliament, many staff members are uncomfortable with the officer being given the senior position. The man is said to be very combative and to have poor public relations skills. Word has reached senior management in Parliament, who are now plotting either to send the man abroad for training and fill the position in his absence, or to advertise it in order to appoint another officer, said to be in good standing but on a lower job scale.

Randy official on wife’s radar

A senior official who was brought into the Executive during the reorganisation of Cabinet after the Gen Z protests has become the talk of his colleagues due to his randy ways. Our source in the Executive whispered to Talk of Town that the big man’s office is a beehive of activity from 6pm to midnight, with young women moving in and out. Word has already reached the man’s wife, who, we are told, is now plotting to storm the office after 5pm to check what the senior official does when he is done with his official duties. The staff are now worried that things might explode in the office soon and that they risk facing public shame.

Pressers ‘organiser’ mints big

A flamboyant politician, fashioning himself as a strategic consultant, has found a new way of minting money. He is exploiting divisions in a political party to organise press conferences on behalf of a disgruntled faction, a venture proving lucrative for the man, who has fallen out with almost all the leadership of the outfits he has joined. When he organised a press briefing for a group of youths to call out some leaders considered renegade in the turmoil-hit party, many of the youths, brought from a nearby university, were heard complaining of being short-changed.
