Big man shaken after high voltage call

A powerful Cabinet Secretary reportedly received a call from a powerful office warning him that his plans to bolt out of the government are well known. So shaken was the man that he had to issue clarification about his commitment to the government. Talk of Town has learnt that the man is reportedly unhappy with the current broad-based government arrangement which he argues has pushed him to the periphery of power. The CS confided in his colleague that the President gives him the attention he used to get before the opposition joined the government. He is now under close State radar on his next move.

Stingy solo travelling officer

Staff under the office of a State officer in one of the arms of the government are not happy with their boss. Reason? The man is constantly travelling alone, denying the officers allowances and has already exhausted this financial year’s budget. The staff was heard discussing the man in hushed tones on Thursday that he even attends nondescript conferences that do not add value to the institution so long as he gets the allowances. So frequent are the man’s trip that he has now exhausted the budget of office and is now eyeing budgets of other departments to satisfy his insatiable love for the sky.

Rebel group dalliance with power

The ease with which rebels from a neighbouring country access high echelons of power in Kenya is raising eyebrows again. Just weeks after they aroused critical commentary from the international community for trying to topple their country’s administration from Nairobi, the group is gathering again in Kenya, seeking to strategise on fuelling the war. Talk of Town has been told the group also enjoys strong networks of political powers in the Gulf and some Western countries, in spite of being sanctioned. The group, according to our bird, will land in the country this week and the red carpet is already cleaned for them.

Leader vows to teach officials a lesson

The recent Cabinet reshuffle by President William Ruto seems to have left a top politician a bitter man. The man whose ‘person’ was among those affected by the changes has vowed to teach Cabinet Secretaries and government officers a lesson by adopting a laissez-faire style of leadership whenever the officers will be in trouble and need his help. Those around the man contend that he is not happy since the changes were made and has promised to hit back until the big man notices the changes and calls him on the table for talks to remedy the situation.

Minister behaving badly

A Cabinet Secretary incorporated in the broad-based government after sustained protests by the Gen-Z is said to be continuing with bad behaviour that his predecessor left. The man, whose staff term as arrogant, is said to be only meeting people from his ethnic community and region, leaving other guests in the waiting room. Even in terms of promotion, the man in a powerful ministry only considers people from his backyard. So entitled have people from region become to a point that they camp at the CS’s office occupying all the spaces available up in the reception area from morning up to late in the evening and demand to be served tea during all those hours.

Mean principal starving staff

A principal of a technical institution in Siaya County is a man being discussed in harsh words by his staff due to how he handles the school’s budget. Previously, the staff said they used to enjoy unlimited tea, a tradition which has now just changed as they only take the beverage once.

For lunch, they have been made to take Ugali and omena from Monday to Friday and if the diet is changed, then its porridge and githeri. They are now wondering where the previous boss used to get money to feed them fish, chicken and other delicacies.
