Tears, silence and relief as court delivered verdict on Sharon’s murder

The conviction of former Migori Governor Okoth Obado was met with mixed emotions, but for the family of Sharon Otieno and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga, it marked a long-awaited step toward justice.
Obado, together with his former personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, was found guilty of the brutal killing of Sharon, a 26-year-old university student who was abducted, raped and murdered while 28 weeks pregnant in Owade, Homa Bay County, in September 2018.
