French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday joined distance running legend Eliud Kipchoge for a morning run on the streets of Nairobi.

In a short video, which has since gone viral, President Macron, who is among the dignitaries attending the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, is seen running beside Kipchoge along University Way in Nairobi.

In the video, President Macron, dressed in a navy blue T-shirt, black pair of shorts, white ankle socks and blue sneakers, can be seen sharing a word with Kipchoge as both run along University Way.

The two are led by a traffic police officer wearing a reflective traffic police jacket, while several people believed to be security officers and members of Macron’s security detail follow closely behind.

Business continued as usual, and members of the public can be seen going about their activities.

Sports is among the topics for discussion in the two-day event.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe, NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi, and retired French footballer Louis Saha are among the sports dignitaries attending the event.
