Gor Mahia players celebrate after their 3-2 victory over Murang’a Seal in an FKF Premier League match at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on January 14, 2026.
Gor Mahia will be looking to stretch their winning streak to eight matches when they host Posta Rangers at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi today.
The game will also provide an avenue for Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor “Otete” to widen K’Ogalo’s lead at the top of the table to nine points against their closest challengers to the title, AFC Leopards.
The last time Gor dropped points in a league game this season was in a barren draw against Shabana on January 11.
And the last time the record 21-time Kenyan champions lost a league match was back on December 7, a painful 1-0 loss to bitter foes Leopards.
The latest string of good results by K’Ogalo has made their passionate legion of fans now believe that indeed this is their year to regain the title they will feel is rightly theirs.

The serial champions lead the league log on 49 points, six above AFC Leopards, after 22 rounds of matches.
Akonnor, after their 2-1 win against Mathare United last Saturday, said they were in good shape but was not happy with their defending.
“We are winning our matches, but we also need to work on our defence to avoid conceding and coming from behind,” said Akonnor.
Gor are the league’s most prolific scorers with 38 goals thus far.
Against Mather, Ebenezer Assifuah netted for Gor in the 67th minute but they allowed Mathare United back into the clash and Dennis Okoth scored in the 83rd minute.
Gor salvaged themselves when Ghanaian Enock Morrison scored via the spot kick with one minute left.
“Sometimes matches are won this way but we should strive to maintain our lead to avoid chasing the game again,” said the Ghanaian coach.

They will be without their top scorer Felix Oluoch who is injured. They will look to Ebener Adukwaw, with six goals, to lead their attack today.
Only five points separate Posta Rangers from Ulinzi Stars and APS Bomet who are in the relegation zone.
The mailmen will thus be fighting for their lives and are potentially dangerous opponents to Gor.
Posta Rangers are winless in their last 10 outings and will be desperate for all three points.
Gor Mahia haven’t lost to Rangers in their last four meetings.
Rangers last beat Gor on January 6, 2024, winning by a solitary goal.
