Fans who missed out on buying Bayern Munich versus Ajax match tickets during Thursday’s phase one sale will have another chance to secure seats when additional tickets become available.
In a statement on Friday, the organisers of the highly anticipated clash at the 60,000-capacity Raila Odinga International Stadium scheduled for January 5, 2027, clarified that only phase one tickets had sold out and more tickets would be made available.
The historic match will inaugurate the stadium, which will be the main venue in Kenya for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations that will be co-hosted by the country, Uganda and Tanzania.
There was high demand for the tickets soon after they went on sale on talantasportscity.com at exactly 6pm on Thursday.
The level three category, section 431, which had the cheapest tickets at Sh2,500 each, was the first to sell out. Tickets costing Sh3500 and Sh5,000 also sold out as thousands of fans queued online to secure a seat.
“The overwhelming response to the initial ticket release reflects the excitement surrounding this historic fixture,” read a statement released by the match’s organisers on Friday. “Fans who were unable to secure tickets during phase one are encouraged to remain patient as additional tickets will be made available in subsequent phases. Release date, ticket categories and availability will be communicated through the official channel,” said the organisers.

However, the organisers neither revealed the number of tickets that were put up for sale nor the number of tickets bought thus far.
The tickets have been classified into seven categories namely, level one, two, three, gold, platinum, skyboxes and accessible. The tickets for level two, section 203 to 2018, are selling for Sh20,000 each.
When this writer visited the website on Friday at 1pm, only three seats were available in level one, with tickets costing Sh15,000 each.
A total of 1,526 tickets were still available in level two, priced at Sh20,000 each. Only 89 seats remained in the platinum, phase one level two category, priced at Sh100,000 each.
Tickets for level three, gold, skyboxes, and accessible had not yet gone on sale.
For those who wish to transfer their ticket, the website indicates that they can do so by opening “my tickets” on the website and choosing the ticket they want to transfer.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya said on Thursday that the two teams had committed in writing to field their best possible sides in the encounter.
“Let me be absolutely clear: this will not be a legends match or an academy-team exhibition. Both clubs have committed to presenting their strongest possible first-team line-ups. We are therefore preparing to welcome two of Europe's most celebrated football clubs, bringing their elite football talent to Kenyan soil for an exceptional international sporting spectacle,” said the CS.
