Between 2014 and 2023, fertile lands of the remote farming villages of Muhamarani, Juhudi, Salama and Widho in Lamu County remained empty.

Instead of the roar of tractors, these villages were filled with anxiety due to frequent Al-Shabaab attacks, forcing families to flee.
