Mandera and Homa Bay counties had the highest number of health facilities blacklisted by the Social Health Authority (SHA) this week over alleged fraud.

Of the 45 facilities gazetted by chief executive Mercy Mwangangi, ten were in Mandera while six were in Homa Bay. Other counties topping the blacklist were Kisumu and Garissa with three each.

In Mandera, some of the blacklisted facilities include Aasif Medical And Health Service Limited, Ayale Medicare And Nursing Home and Desertview Healthcare Services.

In Homa Bay, they include Chala Health Services Ltd and Rachuonyo East Sub-County Hospital.

Dr Mwangangi said that the delisted facilities will not be entitled to any benefit from SHA.

The new blacklist comes after Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale revealed that since the rollout of SHA, rogue hospitals had attempted to steal Sh10.6 billion by filing fraudulent claims.
