Institutions of higher learning owe KUCCPS more than Sh500 million in unpaid placement fees.
KUCCPS is now withholding student lists until institutions clear their debts or agree to payment plans.
The move, KUCCPS says, has pushed most varsities to either settle their outstanding bills or enter into agreements committing to clear the debts.
Institutions of higher learning owe the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) more than Sh500 million in unpaid placement fees, forcing the agency to withhold student lists until institutions clear their debts or agree to payment plans.
This is despite the institutions typically collecting Sh1,500 from each student upon reporting to campus but failing to remit the money to the placement agency.
